ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Founder and president of the NGO Supporte la vague June 2019–present
www.supportelavague.org (NEQ: 1174687823)
Supporte la vague is associated with Gomobe, a money transfer company transferring money from Canada to Cameroon. Supporte la vague is an international aid initiative aiming at reducing money transfer fees between Canada and African countries by paying the transfer fees associated with paying for health bills.
-
Supporte la vague pays for an average of $1000 in transfer fees per month to help more than 200 people each month to receive urgent health care (mainly for typhoid and malaria)
-
Our intervention increased the amount of money being transferred through Gomboe from Canada to Cameroon by $1.2 Million during its first year of activity.
Member of the first cohort of the project L’incubateur d’idée by the International Observatory on the societal impact of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technology (OBVIA) September 2019–2020
Our multidisciplinary team of 10 students is mandated to create an artificial intelligence tool that benefits vulnerable populations. We are creating AI to support the work of 211, a phone service that refers callers to social services. We were scheduled to present our AI project in a workshop at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in October 2020 (cancelled due to pandemic travel restrictions).
Cofounder and co-animator of the philosophy podcast Parlons Éthique October 2019–present
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEf7waRhktTZ1hLZ2NO0-uw
In October 2019, I co-created the podcast Parlons Éthique. My partner and I have been hosting a monthly in-depth interview with experts on a variety of subjects related to ethics. We provide a platform for outstanding academic research, such as Valéry Giroux’s work on veganism, Michel Sasseville’s work on philosophy for children, and Aude Bandini’s research on dolorism and wilful blindness. I have developed a rich and diverse academic network, confidence in leading academics in interviews, and an ability to make philosophy attractive and accessible to a broad audience. The quality and popularity of our podcast have earned us financial support from the Chair of Philosophy La philosophie dans le monde actuel.
